You Have To Read This...

I spend a lot of time educating myself through books, cd's, seminars, etc. I believe in personal development big time.

What you're about to read is probably the BEST "short" training piece I've ever read in network marketing. It is by a fellow named Robert Blackman who has made 7 figure income in network marketing... so he knows what he is talking about.

Now the reason I put "short" in quotations is because considering the amount of valuable information crammed packed into this post it is "short" relatively speaking.

However, it will still take you about 15-20 minutes to read through. But, I guarantee you that if you take just 15-20 minutes to read this through it will make you a better network marketer.

So sit down, grab a coffee and relax because Robert Blackman is about to share with you why some downlines explode and others don't.


"Backstage" Amway Training!

If you have been in Amway before
there is a chance you already KNOW
these Insider stats and conversion rates
of what you should expect in your
recruiting efforts.

If you do know them, then this will
be a brief refresher course--one that
every Networker should be able to scream
out in a cold sweat when awakened
at 3 a.m., I assure you!

Stats are important because it is one
of the few "links" us Networkers have
with the REAL world.

Real world, Robert? What do you
mean by that?

Simple.

Our Grade Schools, Mid-Highs,
High Schools, Colleges and Universities
all teach MATH, Statistics, Geometry,
Trig, and Chemistry.

They don't teach Network Marketing,
now do they?

No, they don't.

School teaches us "formulas" and what
to expect when we add 2 +2.

That is what I call "Real World Teaching".

But, they don't teach us what 2 + 2 equals
in Network Marketing language.

It is indeed, a foreign language to them.

The challenge is to get people who have
NEVER heard of the concept of Network
Marketing to "fit" it into their current
programming they've had in their life.

That's why I'm a "STATS NUT!"

It helps me in my prospecting.

It keeps me going when the going
gets rough and I call for 8 hours straight
on the phone on a Friday and nobody
joins my "deal".

Ever been there?
Ever doubted yourself?

Don't worry.

You're not alone, so have I!

The real "key" to any sustained campaign
is ACTION!

Getting yourself to take action.
Getting your downline to take action.

Forget everything else.

Ignorance of FIRE = Robert Blackman

That we me in the beginning.

I made a lot of money then, and I made
it fast. I was a Network Marketing salesperson,
not a networker.

My days in Amway taught me to be a
better networker and realize that my
most important ASSET was the people
in my downline.

It wasn't my product line.
It wasn't my pay plan.
It wasn't my brochure.
It wasn't my training tape.
It wasn't my website.

It was the men and women in my
downline.

Without them, I would be nothing.

Your ability to secure your residual future
depends entirely on how well you can persuade
your downline to take ACTION!

And, they need to do so quickly, or the
likelihood of them ever taking action
diminishes greatly.

I used to joke about how the Amway people
do it to you--get you to take action, that is.

I used to say:

"The reason why Amway is so successful
is that the night that you join, they get a name
list of 100 to 300 people from you. And, before
your head hits the pillow that night, they've
already called half your list!"

So, if you woke up the next morning with
"buyers remorse", they didn't care--they
had your contact list--NEXT!

There is some truth to that quote though.

More "plans" or presentations were made
last night on behalf of the Amway corporation
than any other Network Marketing program
in the country.

Here's their secret:

--Massive exposure through Massive Action.

Hey, want to know why your banker joined
Amway before he joined your deal?

They showed him the plan before you did!

While you were stammering around and fumbling
through your script, someone from Amway got
on the phone one night and simply asked the
guy was he happy with what he was doing and
was he open to other opportunities.

That reminds me of the story Len Clements told
me when he took a cross country train trip.

At dinner each night you sat with someone
different than the meal before.

Of course, as the conversation began to pick
up the obvious questions like, "What do you
do for a living, Len?" came up.

Len decided to just say:

"I'm a Network Marketer"

Much to his amazement, a large percentage
of those folks he broke bread with didn't know
what that meant!

There's a clue here--saturation is a MYTH.

When you can sit a dinner with people you
don't know and all of them don't know
what the occupation of "Network Marketer"
means, that is a clue that this thing is
still WIDE OPEN to you and I!

Enough said....back to the banker signing
up in Amway and not your program...

They took action while you were watching TV, or
surfing the Net looking for an "easier deal to
make money in."

Have I hit home, yet?

I know this hurts, but it's the truth.

Your business has failed to get off the ground
not because of your pay plan or your product
line.

Your business has failed to get off the ground
because you're not showing enough presentations,
period!

I get people who tell me all the time:

"Robert, I can't sponsor anyone, nobody will
join my program"

When I ask them how many presentations they
made last month the phone goes cold silent.

Their usual response is:

"What do you mean by a presentation--uh, I
called the 100 names you sent me and nobody
joined!"

Good grief.

Some of the most neurotic, flighty, undisciplined,
procrastinating and unorganized people in the
world are in Network Marketing.

They fail to grasp the simple fact that this business
is not about them, but about what they can do
for their prospects!

Amway kicks our butts every day, every week
and every month in Domestic and International
sales because they realize that PEOPLE are
the ASSET!

They realize that People connect with other
People.

They realize that meetings, home plans
product pickup and tapes telling others their
"rags to riches" story are the foundation to
their business.

They realize that if simply mailing a brochure,
sending a cassette or video overnight, or
blasting 1,000,000 FAA sights was the secret
they'd cut out the distributor in a heartbeat
and use the commission money for their
own!

The companies need you and I because we
are not just commission salespeople.

We are business owners and you and I will
bend over backwards and upside down again
to make this program work!

We take a :

"Whatever It Takes Attitude!"

Today, I will be teaching you what
keeps those Amway folks going, night
after night, meeting after meeting, convention
after convention, even though they are spending
more money than they are making each and
every month.

I know, I've been there.

--If you've never been to an open meeting
with 250 people (like I used to run
every week in Oklahoma City)

--If you've never been to a convention
with 25,000 Screaming, Eager, Sales
People like I have all over the county.

--If you've never shown a 2-5 year
plan on a napkin at Denny's or IHOP
like I have.

--If you've never done a "Team Calling" every
Monday Night where you have your downline
show up at your home with their "LIST".

If you've never done any of those things
then let me show you a "glimpse" today
of WHAT keeps that business growing
every day regardless of:

--The price of their products
--The payout of their comp plan

When you REALIZE that it is not
your products or comp plan that makes
you RICH, then you start to relax a bit.

You take the pressure off of yourself and
your presentation and you just start looking
for people who are either just "looking" like you
were, or for people you just "connect" with.

You see, when I joined Amway back in the
mid-90's I was already making 6-figures
in Direct mail.

My friends thought I had caught some
sort of "virus" or went "manic" on them
when I announced to the world that I was
STARTING an Amway business.

Now....

If you haven't ever been in Amway,
then these stats will interest you
and be vital for the building of your
main program, whatever that may be.

Let me start my training today by saying
that as an "ex-Amway" distributor I
sincerely enjoyed my association with
them for 4 years.

I will not go into all the "gory" details
as why I chose to walk way from my downline
there and sign it over to someone less deserving,
as I'm sure we all have an Amway story
or two (but, I'm willing to bet mine is better
than yours, though, LOL!)

Needless to say, I would not KNOW what
I do today about warm marketing, prospecting,
building people and building my own self-esteem
today if it wasn't for my 4 years in Amway.

In fact, I still listen to many of my old Amway
tapes every month.

Some of the best motivational speakers
in the world are born in Amway.

I thank them for what they taught me.

One of the most important things I learned
from them in Prospecting was to actually
break down how much each:

--Phone call
--QI (quality interview)
--STP (show the plan)

Meant to me in real world dollars over my
lifetime.

For this example I will use a "30-Years Approach"
to show you how much each action you take
is worth to you in your business.

Now, remember, this may be matching
"apples" to "bananas" here, but the
THRUST of my training and method
to my madness today is that:

THERE IS A DISTANCT CORRELATION
BETWEEN YOUR ACTIONS TODAY AND YOUR
PAYCHECK OVER A 30 YEAR PERIOD.

In other words, I'm going to breakdown
for you how much money each phone
call and each presentation is worth to
you over a 30 year period.

I used this training in my Amway days
to "LOCK" people in and keep them "IN"
when doubt and buyers remorse engulfed them.

It helped me when some guys wife was
bugging him about all the money and
time he was spending away from his family.

It helped me explain to the person who had
never owned a business before about laying
a foundation and take a long term approach
to their business.

And, it just gave me and my entire downline
COMFORT that our efforts today were not
being made in VAIN, and that we were truly
working for something that mattered in the
future.

You see, INSTANT GRATIFICATION does
not exist in Network Marketing.

Oh, sure there are those:

--Fast Start Bonuses
--Coding Bonuses
--Retail Bonuses

That can pay you MONEY now.

Instead, what I'm talking about is developing
and reaping a walk-away residual income
in Network Marketing.

Joe Schroeder says:

--Build a group of 500 active downline members
and you can't stop them from buying even
if you put a gun to their head.

Dale Calvert says:

--Build people and they will build the business.

John Merris says:

--People don't care what you know until they
know how much you care.

I agree with all three of these Pioneers.

But all three of their philosophies aren't worth
a wooden nickel unless someone like you and
I get off our rears and contact someone day in
and day out, until our dreams are realized.

Now, don't immediately right-out-of-
the-gate try to prove or disprove these
numbers.

That will drive you absolutely NUTS!

Instead, what I want you to do for a moment
is to take off your skeptical "hat" for a
change and really sink your teeth into
what I'm about to show you.

Why?

Because these numbers weren't created
out of "THIN AIR".

They were put together by people with
200,000+ or more in their downline.

They were put together by people who
make $100,000 or more a MONTH.

Not a year.
But a month.

They were put together by people who
had nothing better to do than sit around
and analyze their downline and call reports
from 20 years of work.

Now that I've laid the foundation, let's get
to the meat of today's training:

HOW MUCH IS YOUR BUSINESS WORTH!

This is definitely a report that you want to
print out and over with a cup coffee, a glass of merlot
or a shot of crown and with your pen and
calculator in hand.

Yes, study and dissect these numbers, it
will do your soul good.

First here is a LEGEND for you to study:

DD = Direct Distributor
($15,000 in volume a month)

QI = Quality Invite
(Where you get on the phone and are able
to go over your script and invite someone
to sit down for a brief overview of what
you are doing)

BI--Brief Interview
(Where you sketch out a 2-5 year plan
and explain the concept of wholesale
distribution to your prospect in person,
usually at a Denny's or at a Hotel 30 minutes
before the "Plan". The BI is effective because
it is like an interview and weeds out people
who are not qualified to be at the PLAN. You
can show 1 or more people a BI at the same
time. I normally showed 2-6 people at a time
a BI at the Hotel meeting 30 minutes before
the plan. I didn't "mess around" with a lot
of one-on-ones. The POSTURE you get
with 6 people at a table in the coffee shop
is INCREDIBLE! It's like all 6 of them are
trying to outdo the other guy or gal and win
my attention. When I had 2 or more at a
BI I always would sign them both up after
the plan with a kit. It made my job easier.

STP = Show The Plan
(Stage 2 of the process. You normally will
do a BI first and then invite your prospect to
an open meeting where someone who is
a Direct or above would be showing
the plan.

With that in mind, here's the "Backstage" training
only Directs and above get to know in Amway:

How Many Phone Calls To Find a DD?

4 Phone calls = 1 QI
2QI's = 1 person at the open meeting
4 people at the meeting = 1 person sponsored
4 people sponsored = 1 DD
128 Phone Calls To Find A DD

How Much Residual Income Is A DD Worth Over 30 Years?

1 DD = $650 a month
1 DD/year = $650 month * 12 months = $7,800.00 a year
A lifetime of a DD = 30 years
1 DD/Lifetime = $7,800.00/year * 30 years = $234,000.00/Lifetime

How Much Is Each Activity Worth Over A 30-Year Period?

By Phone Calls:
$234,000/128 phone calls to find a DD = $1,828.13 per phone call

By QI's:
4 phone calls = 1 QI = $7,312.52 per QI

By Each Person At An Open Meeting:
2 QI's = 1 at a meeting = $14,625.04 a person at an open meeting

By Each Person Sponsored:
4 sponsored = 1 DD = $58,500.16 for each front line you sponsor

As you can see, by breaking down what each
activity is worth to you over a 30 year period you
quickly gain insight to why companies like Amway
work so well when they don't have the lowest priced
products and the highest pay plan.

They build people.
They educate people.
They get people to take action.
They don't run ads.
They don't do mailings.
They are STILL the largest Network Marketing company in the WORLD!

And, they will continue to be, unless
some other company teaches their
troops how to take "massive amounts of action"
in the first 90 days of their business.

ACTION.

Tom Peters says:

"Anything worth DOING is worth doing POORLY".

Yes, action overcomes everything.

I QUIT my Amway business thousands of times
in my head.

I RE-JOINED my Amway business every week
at the Open meeting.

I RE-JOINED my Amway business every week
at product pickup.

I RE-JOINED my Amway business every week
when I popped in a new tape.

I RE-JOINED my Amway business every month
at the trainings in Dallas.

I RE-JOINED my Amway business every 3 months
at the Conventions.

I RE-JOINED my Amway business every day when
I got up and had to go run a printing press!

Amway gave me the confidence that what I was
doing TODAY would pay off TOMORROW!

Amway taught me Delayed gratification. And, they
had 100's of speakers to back that fact up. Everywhere
I turned there was some Car Wash owner who took
7 years to be a Direct Distributor and he now makes
$50k a month.

They not only taught delayed gratification, they
had the muscle and documentation to back it up.

They showed me that I could do anything I put
my mind and heart into.

They showed me how to "inspire” others to step
out of their comfort zone and take action.

Does your opportunity?

See the difference.

Absorb these numbers, my friend.

Analyze them and compare them with your
own opportunity.

Critique yourself.

Start realizing that if you take a
"Social Security" attitude towards your
program, you'll be successful.

In other words, give your program the same
discipline and consistency and effort as you
do at your job where a small percentage is
contributed towards your retirement.

Why can't your Network Marketing opportunity
be your own form of retirement?

It can.

No, you probably won't work 40 years at the
same job.

But, you WILL still contribute a small amount
to your Social Security account regardless of
who you work for, now won't you?

Same goes with this industry.

You may not be with the same opportunity
for 40 years.

You may have bounced around.
You may be "between" companies.

But, don't forget that your greatest asset
is the relationship you build with those you
come in contact with.

And, don't forget that unless you start taking
MASSIVE action you'll never have a retirement
check from your Network Marketing opportunity.

Realize that every time you:

--Pick up the phone and dial a number
--Invite someone to a meeting or conference call
--Show the Plan (STP)
--Send an e-mail
--Send a brochure
--Mail a cassette
--Mail a video
--Talk to a co-worker

You are making money.

You may not "see" it now, but you are, indeed
making money.

Now, you may not see that money now, when
you need and want it, but it will be there.

When I learned that you could put a dollar
value to phone calls and showing presentations
I got excited.

I was able to teach myself within the REAL WORLD
teaching--trading dollars for hours.

At your job, if you went to work for 8 hours you
expect to get paid for 8 hours.

If you didn't you'd probably quit, wouldn't you?

Well, that explains why so many people with such
high hopes and expectations quit your downline.

They worked 8 hours and expected to be paid
for 8 hours work.

Someone forgot to tell them that the money doesn't
necessarily come every week.

Sometimes it takes months for it to show up.

Start telling your downline that every time they
make a call, they are getting paid.

Their money is just being "banked" by the
MLM bean counters.

Put in your time and effort and this industry
WILL reward you with your dreams.

It always has for me.

Thank you for letting me into your home or
office today and re-visit my past today.

No, the past does not equal the future.

But, the past does tell us many things. Namely,
that what efforts you do today, will someday
turn into residual income, so you can quit your
job and buy your life back.

Isn't that the main reason you and I both got
involved in Network Marketing in the first place?

There really is a pot of gold at the end of the
Network Marketing Rainbow!

The Pyschology of Buying Leads...

If you have listened to any of my Zfreedom training calls you will have heard me say, "The life-blood of network marketing is a constant flow of leads".

Now, there are 3 primary ways that you can generate prospects for your Zrii business:

1. Through your warm market
2. Through your own advertising
3. Through purchasing leads

Let's assume that you've shared Zrii with everyone you know and that you have absolutely no time to learn how to advertise your business.

That leaves you with one last option- buying leads.

So what kind of leads can you purchase:

1. Bundled leads (i.e. 40,000 leads for $250)
2. Generic semi-exclusive leads
3. Semi-exclusive re-directed leads
4. Exclusive re-directed leads
5. Zrii specific exclusive re-directed leads

O.k. before we go any further, let me remind you that I'm a HUGE proponent of learning how to generate your own prospects because they are usually the highest quality lead.

But, since it is obvious that not everyone has the marketing savvy or know-how in order to make this happen then the next best thing is buying your own leads.

As you can see from the list above not all leads are equal. The first two lead types listed are the most common on the internet. They are a waste of your time and money.

The next 3 types of leads are what you should focus on when buying leads. Let's take a look at each one individually so that you can decide which one is best suited for your needs.

Semi-exclusive Re-Directed Leads

These are leads that have been generated by a lead vendor using their own lead capture page. In other words, they are generic leads... people looking for a home based business opportunity. They are leads that can be sold to 4 different companies. This means that if you can't call your leads right away then you might not want to buy this type.

The advantages of these are they are the least expensive out of the three types. And they are re-directed in REAL time to your Zfreedom business marketing site. The re-directed part is important because that means that your lead is seeing ONLY your site after they fill in their contact information. This gives you an advantage since they will be "sold" on your opportunity first before they are sold to other companies.

Exclusive Re-Directed Leads

These are the same as the previous ones EXCEPT that they are exclusive and a little more expensive. Your lead will NOT be re-sold to anyone else. These are still generic leads but it gives you the ability to take some time before having to call them. So if you are a person that can't call leads until after work then you probably want to invest in this type of lead.

There is a new lead vendor in the Zfreedom back office that is offering this kind of lead.

Zrii Specific Exclusive Re-Directed Leads

These are usually the BEST and most expensive type of lead. The lead vendor uses a Zrii specific landing page and thus all of your leads are "Zrii leads" (they've responded to a Zrii ad). It is extremely difficult to find a lead vendor that will commit to this kind of lead since it costs a lot of money for them to set up.

Zfreedom will be making this kind of lead available very soon!


It should be mentioned that some people prefer certain lead vendors. Thus, I recommend trying both lead vendors in the Zfreedom back office to see which ones you prefer.

Now that you know the fundamental difference in leads I want to look at the psychology of buying leads... this is a BIG deal!

Let's say you purchase 100 leads and spend $450. That is quite a bit of money for most people. However, it is peanuts considering the expense of starting any other kind of business.

So since you've just spent $4.50 per lead you expect ALL of them to be on the verge of joining Zrii right?

Wrong!

Out of the 100 you should expect to really spend most of your time with 10-15 people. Let the system do the sifting and sorting so that you know which ones to spend your time with. The prospects that show a high interest level are the ones you will focus most of your energy on.

So out of the 10-15 people that you are focusing 95% of your energy on, you will hopefully get 2 or 3 sign ups. Not bad, considering you are not wasting your time sifting and sorting through the other 85-90 people.

So you really are spending your money on 10-15 people. If you look at it that way then you will get way better results.

Remember, if you sign up 2-3 people a month and teach them to do the same you can build a million dollar business!

That folks is the beauty of network marketing. It is not magical. It is a numbers game and when you diligently use the Zfreedom marketing system to generate leads and spend your time with the high interest prospects... you will surely succeed.

Easiest Money I Ever Made...

I've been an avid studier of online marketing for a few years now. I've spent thousands of dollars on courses, books and seminars to learn from the best.

There are a few marketers that I have learned a lot from, one of them being Ann Sieg.

It isn't so much what she taught me... but what I saw her doing. Ann Sieg is one of the pioneers when it comes to internet-network marketing. The last time I talked to Ann she said that network marketing will never be the same now that the internet is in the picture.

I couldn't agree more.

The Zfreedom marketing system is the end result of putting together everything I know about internet marketing with network marketing. It is a tool that gives Zrii distributors a HUGE advantage over just relying on "traditional" recruiting.

Anyway, back to Ann Sieg.

Ann sent me an email a couple months ago that I thought is very relevant for those using the Zfreedom system. I had a gentleman ask me on the last conference call to write a post about how to track his advertisements.

I believe tracking your advertisements is absolutely critical when marketing your business but so few people do it. Instead of me explaining why it is so vital, I thought I would simply share with you the email I received from Ann.

"You probably already know that having a good
conversion rate is your number one concern when
it comes to making money online with your
business.

There is nothing that has a more direct impact on
your bank account than your website's ability to
convert visitors into leads, customers and
distributors.

There's also nothing else that has more of an
influence on WHERE you can advertise...

How much you can afford to PAY for your
advertising...

And what KIND of advertising opportunities are
available to you.

Simply put, it will single-handedly determine
whether or not you succeed or fail in your business.

But what you may be surprised to know is that when
it comes to getting killer conversion rates, the most
important factor is NOT your ads.

It's NOT your emails.

It's NOT your sales letter.

And it's NOT your copywriting skills.

Yep, you read that right.

These are all crucial and you need to master them.

However...

There's another element that has a far greater
impact on whether or not people choose to opt in
to your newsletter, purchase your product, or join
your opportunity (or even click on your ad in the
first place).

You'll want to really let this sink in because it's
dangerously simply. So simple in fact, that most
people never even think about it or they
completely overlook it even if someone tells them
about it. Very few people online actually practice
it diligently. But what I'm about to share with you
may be THE most valuable piece of knowledge
you can have when it comes to getting the most
out of your advertising.

If you understand this concept and you make a
commitment to NEVER advertise again without
taking this into consideration, you'll be able to
routinely achieve conversion rates that most
marketers can only dream about.

You see, when it comes to conversion rates, the
single greatest factor has nothing to do with you...

And EVERYTHING to do with your audience.

What is that factor?

Your traffic sources.

In other words:

---------------------------------
WHERE ARE YOUR CLICKS COMING FROM
AND WHAT KIND OF CLICKS ARE THEY?
---------------------------------

Most people, myself included, assume that all clicks
are created equal and blindly pour tons of time and
money into just getting as many visitors to their site
as they possibly can.

This is one of the most costly mistakes you can
make online.

I wasted a lot of money before I finally figured this
out and it's a lesson that never ceases to amaze me.

It's so counter-intuitive because whenever we think
about how to make more money, the first thing we
always think about is how to improve OUR ability
to convince people to do what we want them to do.

We ask ourselves things like...

"How can I improve my sales presentation?"

Or...

"What's the latest trick or gimmick I could put on
my website that would bring in more sales?"

Or...

"What new headline idea could I come up with that
would cause people to throw their money at me?"

Now don't get me wrong-you can't have a
profitable business without being able to persuade
people to take action and this is the number one
skill you need to develop... BUT... all too often
we forget that it's the prospect - not us - that's
the most important part of the entire equation. And
the key thing to keep in mind about marketing on
the internet is that every different source of traffic,
every different type of click or visitor, is a
completely different type of prospect.

To illustrate this point, think about this: In many
cases, if you get the right person in front of your
message, someone who has been DYING to find
something exactly like what you're offering, they
won't even read your sales letter. They don't even
care. They'll go straight to the bottom and hit the
order button or submit their info.

Just think back to a time when you've made a
purchase like this. I'm sure you can think of a few.
You didn't even have the patience to listen to any
kind of sales message. You wanted the product
NOW.

What if you only targeted groups of people (aka -
traffic sources) like this, as opposed to ones that
require a lot more selling?

How much more profitable (and easier) would that
make your job?

By continually testing and making improvements
to a given marketing piece, like an ad or a website,
you can increase the conversion rate by 50%...
100%... 200%... 300% or more over time.

However, by simply targeting better and more
qualified sources of traffic, you can easily get TEN
TIMES the conversion rate - in some cases basically
overnight - without hardly even trying!

Which is why I say:

"A mediocre sales message given to a red-hot
prospect will ALWAYS give you better results
than a whole bunch of red-hot sales messages
given to an indifferent prospect."

Now, on the surface, this idea of targeting the right
prospects seems pretty straight forward. It doesn't
really sound like there's a whole lot to it.

Just go after people who want to make money from
home right?

But here's where you really have to be careful.

When I first began studying direct response
marketing and I started building my business
online, I mistakenly assumed that as long as I was
advertising on home-based-business-type-websites
or as long as I was bidding on MLM-ish type
keywords, that's all I needed to do.

I had no idea the extent to which this concept of
a "starving crowd" was true and just how far I
needed to take it.

What I failed to realize in the beginning (a big
thank you to John Reese for teaching me this) is
that if you're not tracking the performance of
EACH individual ad or traffic source separately,
not only are you wasting an enormous amount of
money...

But you're also leaving tons more on the table -
money that's just sitting there, waiting for you to
scoop it up.

Experienced direct marketers from the offline
world have known this for years.

Even the greatest sales letter in the world will be
a complete flop if it's mailed to the wrong list of
people (a list being a collection of names and
contact info, for example, subscribers of a golf
magazine). EVEN IF it's a list of people you
would think would be highly interested in your
offer, a list that for all intents and purposes
SHOULD be interested in your offer.

The problem is, even the smartest marketers in the
world can never know for sure what audience will
respond best. They can certainly make educated
guesses and those guesses may turn out to be right
a good percentage of the time, but they never leave
anything to chance without testing it first.

That's why successful direct mailers always send
their promotion to small sample audiences of 1,000-
5,000 people from different lists in order to test the
response BEFORE sending out mass mailings of
100,000 or more letters.

The reason they have to be so careful is because
the cost of making a mistake in the "physical world"
and mailing out a few hundred thousand letters to
the wrong group of people could end up putting
them $100 grand or more in the hole.

But today with the internet, these incredibly high
costs have been removed and ANYONE who wants
to can quickly, easily and cheaply reach thousands
and even millions of potential prospects.

Never before in the history of the world has this
been possible.

But of course there's a flip side to this coin.

Because of the speed, simplicity and low-cost of
the internet...

It's also easier for people to be a lot more careless.

LESS RISK = LESS RESPONSIBILITY.

And this is where 90% of people doing business
online are missing the boat because the most
powerful advantage of the internet isn't the speed
or the low-cost or even the huge reach that it
offers...

THE GREATEST ADVANTAGE OF THE
INTERNET IS THAT IT'S THE MOST
TRACKABLE ADVERTISING MEDIUM EVER!

The biggest difference between successful
business owners and unsuccessful ones has always
been that the successful ones track EVERYTHING
they do to make sure it's earning them a return on
their investment.

If it's not, they stop doing it. If it is, they do more
of it.

(This is why MLM companies don't teach their
distributors to track all of their warm market/cold
market prospecting activities. If they did, no one
would do them anymore!)

But for those who want to take a truly scientific
approach to their business, the internet is a dream
come true.

Let me show you what I mean...

For starters, it's important to know that organic
traffic... pay-per-click traffic... banner traffic...
article traffic... press release traffic... blog
traffic... social networking traffic... youtube
traffic... JV traffic... offline-to-online traffic...
viral traffic... and any other type of traffic you
can think of, ALL convert differently.

And an ad or website that works great with one
of them, very well could, but may not work so well
with others.

Here are a couple extreme examples just to show
you the vast difference between all these types of
traffic.

One of the best ways to generate a lot of leads or
sales in a short period of time is to have someone
recommend your offer to their list of subscribers
(this is known as a joint venture or endorsed
mailing).

In one instance I did this with a newsletter owner
who had a very high-quality list of subscribers.
The offer I was making on my website in this
case was actually to opt in for my free newsletter.

The promotion ended up with an almost-
unbelievable 87% of the people who visited my
site taking me up on my offer!

I then did it again with another joint venture, a
different list of subscribers, and this time "only"
54% of the visitors opted in for my newsletter.

Then, I took this exact same website and advertised
it using pay-per-click listings on one of the smaller
search engines and it got a not-so-exciting 6.5%
average conversion rate.

Keep in mind, all this traffic, all of these visitors,
were within the make-money-from-home crowd -
people who should have all been interested in my
offer.

Now, I could invest time into improving the
conversion rate for the "6.5%" traffic source... or...
I could invest time into finding more "54%" and
"87%" traffic sources.

It's not that I DON'T want to work on improving
the "6.5%" conversion rate, but out of those two
options, if I was pressed for time (and who isn't?)
and I had to choose, which one would bring me the
greatest return in the shortest period of time?

Like I said, that's an extreme example and the
difference isn't always so big since good joint
venture traffic is just about the most qualified type
of traffic you can get (aside from your own list of
subscribers). It's also not always easy to find.

So what about within the same individual traffic
generation techniques themselves?

You already saw the huge difference in conversions
between two separate lists of subscribers...

What about pay-per-click?

Did you know that in many cases, especially in our
industry, Yahoo traffic usually converts better than
Google traffic?

What about even more specific than that?

When I say track every traffic source separately, I
don't just mean individual traffic generation
techniques or even just individual ads... I mean
every KEYWORD (if it applies).

This is where it gets really interesting -- and
super profitable. Here are some specific keyword
examples that I have bid on over the years.

In these examples I wasn't promoting a free offer
either, but a couple different paid products.

Isn't that amazing?

Same industry. Exact same website/message. Same
traffic technique. Even the same keyword almost.

Totally different mindset.

This one's insightful:

Now, a 3.33% conversion rate over a 1.27% one
may not seem huge, but it makes all the difference
in the world.

It's the difference between being able to pay $3.00
for your clicks vs. $.50.

It's the difference between having a prime spot on
page one vs. being buried on page four.

It's the difference between hauling in hundreds of
leads every month like clockwork vs. having a
trickle of five or six to work with.

This one doesn't really surprise me too much
because I would assume that someone who types
in "free MLM leads" is less likely to be interested in
learning how to generate their own leads as
opposed to someone who types in "MLM leads."

But here's a weird one for you...

multilevelmarketing = 14.29% conv. rate

Why is this?

Who knows.

I have a few theories, but all that really matters is
that for the last two years I've been getting almost
eight times the conversion rate from the keyword
"multilevelmarketing" with no spaces vs the
normal keyword "multi level marketing."

(Something tells me there's going to be a lot more
competition for this keyword, starting tomorrow
morning. :)

And one more...

If you're savvy about pay-per-click, this one's to
illustrate the importance of using different match
types. (If you're not, that's okay too - it's still just
illustrating the bigger point of tracking). This
shows the difference between exact match and
broad match (I see this all the time by the way,
with many, many different keywords).

What if you were advertising and you DIDN'T
know this information?

What if you were paying $.15 for a keyword that
converts at 2% and more than twice as much for a
keyword that only converts at .8%?

Or what if you were paying through the nose to
have your ads placed on a website that hasn't
yielded a single prospect in the last 4 months and
you had no idea about it?

How much money would you be wasting?

A lot.

If you're not doing this right now,
you need to be. You're really operating in the dark
until you are. And you won't fully realize it until
you actually start doing it.

Then you'll look back and say, "How in the world
could I have gone so long without doing this? I
must have been insane!"

What's really scary about this whole thing is that
if there's THAT much of a difference in conversion
rates between different groups of people who are
all LOOKING for information about network
marketing...

How bad are the conversion rates for people who
have no interest in MLM whatsoever or who just
want to be left alone?

People like friends and coworkers or dead-beat
"opportunity leads" that just requested info about
making money from home because they wanted
a free iPod.

It really sheds a whole new light on this business
of sponsoring and recruiting doesn't it?

But even more important than the money you're
wasting by not tracking is the money you're
missing out on...

When you're able to pinpoint those advertising
sources that are bringing you the absolute highest
return on your dollar and you focus all your money
and efforts on them, it's very powerful.

The greatest and fastest increase in profits I've ever
experienced with the least amount of effort was
when I started tracking individual traffic sources.

But the best part about this strategy, is that this is
something you can go implement RIGHT NOW
and immediately see dramatic results from (not to
mention the tools you need to do it are free).

Most of the activities in business that really make
you a lot of money require a good amount of
learning and skill development.

This is not one of them.

This is something that anyone can quickly and
easily put to use, today, with no learning curve, and
in some cases, if you're currently doing a decent of
amount of advertising, produce huge results
literally overnight - as was the case for me.

On the other hand, if you're just getting started
learning how to generate your own leads, you're
way ahead of the ballgame.

It's pretty easy to see how a savvy marketer who
focuses on highly qualified pockets of traffic that
convert like crazy can dance circles around
everyone else who's just randomly throwing stuff
out there and hoping some of it works"

Okay... I hope you have a better understanding on why I believe so much in tracking your advertisements.

So You Want To Make Money? Find Out The Best Industry To Make Money In... It May Surprise You!

Did you know that it took 215 years for the U.S. economy to create the first 3.6 million millionaires?

It then took a mere 10 years to create another 3.6 million millionaires.
